With the buzz starting to grow for the Coen brother's remake of the Western classic, True Grit images and news are starting to come to the world.

The news is mostly in regards to the script. It's been confirmed that the script for the movie has been written as an adaptation of the 1969 original flick, not the novel.

And you know what, I'm totally okay with that.

With this cast (Jeff Bridges, Matt Damon, Josh Brolin, Barry Pepper, Hailee Steinfeld) I have no qualms about the movie being a rewritten remake.

In fact I think it's great!

True Grit - Remake Coming For Christmas 2010!

That's right, True Grit, the movie that won John Wayne his only Academy Award, is being remade. And it's not going to be a small movie.

The Coen brothers are directing the film and have lined up an A+ list cast to put together their adaptation of what most people consider the greatest Western ever made.

Jeff Bridges (Crazy Heart) gets the role of Marshal Reuben J. Cogburn which was famously played by Wayne in 1969. Other cast members include Matt Damon, Josh Brolin, Barry Pepper and Hailee Steinfeld.

There is a lot of pressure from fans and the industry for the Coen brothers to do a good job with this film. In fact, there is probably more pressure from the fans to make a quality homage to the original than there is from the studio to make money.

I've been able to find a few photos from the set of True Grit to give us all a quick look of what the movie will look like when it comes out.
